2013 Degraw Paso Robles Merlot

Tasting Notes

Paso Robles is considered to be the "Wild West" of California wine, and thus sets up the scene perfectly for this robust and full-flavored Merlot. From land that not long ago was roamed by banditos, cattle ranchers and pioneer families, this concentrated wine features ripe black-red fruit flavors of cherry and plum, along with savory nuances of vanilla, light mocha and tobacco. The tannins, while firm, are well-integrated and provide structure to the plush fruit, and can easily be tamed when accompanied by grilled red meat.
