Wine geeks love to focus in on a specific grape variety, the specific spot where it was grown, what the weather was like that season – and we're into that, too, but not 100 percent of the time. Not every wine has to express a grape, a place or a season – sometimes, the wine just has to taste really darn good. And this is one of those wines, crafted by a close friend of ours with access to some spectacular-quality juice up and down California. This delicious, versatile white is mostly Chardonnay, but it also has small percentages of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Malvasia blended in for a uniquely enjoyable symphony of flavors. This is a wine that's much better than the sum of its parts, making it a great house white for any time of the year.

Tasting Notes

A wonderfully rich wine with a brisk acidity, a steely minerality and mouthwatering citrus fruit flavors. Feels smooth and creamy, with white flowers, nectarine, hints of vanilla and honey. An interesting combination of richness, tartness and, above all, elegance.
