There's only one bad thing about this wine: We can't tell you who made it, or the vineyard where the grapes were grown. If we could, this would undoubtedly cost you double. So when we say this Syrah is a steal, we seriously mean it. And while we're at it, we need to put to rest the myth that Syrah is a hot-climate grape, reserved for places like Australia. When it's grown in a cool place like Monterey, you'll find more interesting, peppery, savory aromas and flavors combining with the fruit. This wine shows all that and more, and is one of the most enjoyable, versatile reds in existence.

Tasting Notes

Perfectly poised, this wine shows ideal ripeness without being over the top – let's call this Syrah well-mannered. Medium- to full-bodied, the wine shows aromas of dark berry, red plum sauce, ripe raspberry and cherry. On the palate you get a delicious mouthful of plum, dried cranberry and sour black cherry, with subtle notes of pepper and savory grilled lamb. Syrah is one of the most versatile wines for food, so experiment with pasta, anything grilled, mushrooms and lamb dishes to find the perfect match. Drink now and often.
