When we tasted this wine, someone in the office said that it's so delicious, people will love it no matter how absurd a name we attach to it. After that, one silly name after another came up until in the wee hours it was suggested that the label could feature a pirate on a Schwinn with training wheels ... and Bicycle Pirate was born. This ripe, lush, powerful red comes from California's undeniably epic 2012 vintage. While the name of the wine might cause a chuckle or two, have no doubt whatsoever that what's inside the bottle is serious juice. After one sip, we're certain you'll be back to plunder some more.

Tasting Notes

Yo ho ho and a bottle of Zin! This wine explodes with dark, powerful aromas of raspberry, blackberry and citrus. All these characters coil together and present themselves in perfect harmony on the palate, supported by secondary notes of cherry and chocolate. The finish is long and powerful, followed by a smoky note. This is a great party pour that goes with anything from pizza to pasta to grilled meats to casual discussions about piracy.
