It's rare to find quality California Cabernets at the $20 price point. But it's possible when we taste the goods, decide on the blend and have it bottled just for you. It's how the 2009 Rancho Alexander Cab was made, too, and it was one of the most popular reds we've ever offered. The 2010 follows in its footsteps. Smooth, fleshy and fruit-forward, this wine stands up to $5 Mexican takeout as easily as to a $50 steak. You won't find another Cabernet of this quality and versatility at this price.

2010 Rancho Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes

This is practically a carbon copy of the 2009. The first whiff is loaded with candied maraschino cherry and vanilla. You get the same on the palate, with a dark undercurrent of cassis, all supported by soft, integrated tannins. This is an unpretentious, unapologetic, crowd-pleasing party pour of a Cabernet. It'd be great with any number of spicy foods, particularly wings or just about anything containing chorizo.
