Ten Sisters Sauvignon Blanc is 10 times better than any Sauvignon Blanc I've tasted at its price point. I won't be surprised if you start hearing about Ten Sisters in the same breath as well-known, established labels such as Kim Crawford and Cloudy Bay. In the Dec. 2, 2012, Wine Spectator article "10 Tasty Sauvignon Blancs," critic MaryAnn Worobiec said Ten Sisters' "sense of style and attractive price tag make it a brand to watch." If you love the tropical-fruit crispness that New Zealand's best white wines for a more than reasonable price, you're in for a treat.

2010 Ten Sisters Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Notes

While many know Marlborough for its in-your-face, explosively aromatic Sauvignon Blancs, this one shows remarkable restraint. Gentle, integrated aromas of lime, kiwifruit, grass and snap peas fill the nose. On the palate the wine has a nice punch of sweetness, but it's welcome and rewarding – not sugary or syrupy. This is a very polished and refined wine with a long finish – everything is in balance, making it perfect for afternoon quaffing, preferably with your feet up. Pair it with fresh fluke crudo and grapefruit segments, grilled jalapeño, olive oil and smoked sea salt.

The Washington Post
2.5/3 stars

"We tend to drink our white wines early; many 2011s from New Zealand have arrived on the market. But the extra time in the bottle has given this delightful single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc time to flesh out and strut its stuff. That grassy character of New Zealand Sauv is present but not aggressive, and the texture is downright silky." (March 6, 2012)
