6 x 2009 Vinum Cellars Napa Rosé

Napa rosé is a perfect choice for late-summer parties and picnics: an easy-drinking crowd-pleaser for pairing with savory appetizers like charcuterie, cheeses or olives.

The 2009 Vinum Cellars Rosé is sourced from Calistoga, the northernmost Napa Valley appellation, which is renowned for creating top-notch Cabernet Sauvignon from ancient, gnarly vines. Vinum owners Richard Bruno and Chris Condos purchase their fruit from Jim Frediani, a third-generation Italian grower who dry-farms his vineyards to ensure his Cabernet Sauvignon expresses flavorful red fruit and powerful tannins.

To make this delightful rosé, the juice is removed right after crushing the Cabernet Sauvignon and fermented cold, just like a white wine. Make sure you have enough of this rosé on hand to get you through summer.

Tasting Note
This delightfully quaffable pink displays aromas that evoke ripe strawberries lightly dusted with powdered sugar. The palate also has a burst of tropical stone fruit (Condos swears it's kumquat), which mingles well with the intense strawberry infusion. Consider this rosé a park/picnic pink, delicious with fruit salad, fried chicken or anything finger-licking good.

More About the Winemakers

Vinum owners Richard Bruno and Chris Condos became friends as students at UC Davis, where they both shared an intense love of the grape varieties found in France’s Loire Valley. Their first collaboration in 1997 was the Pointe Blanc – a blend of Chenin Blanc, Viognier and Roussanne – inspired by the great white wines of the Loire

Bruno and Condos celebrate their relationships with farmers and grape growers. Their philosophy is simple: Work with the vineyards to develop the best fruit picked at optimal ripeness. The team is constantly experimenting and learning new winemaking methods while preserving an Old World approach, which is apparent in the balance and freshness of all the Vinum Cellars wines. They currently work with over 14 grape varieties from El Dorado and San Benito Counties to Napa Valley.
