Caviar is a luxury. The decade that goes into raising a female sturgeon and the care in harvesting her delicate eggs requires that one eat the end product using only the best utensils. Caviar is one of the world’s most luxurious foods, so why do anything but serve it in a luxurious manner?

Not only did we search high and low for the perfect caviar spoons, we also found the perfect serving dish.

To enjoy caviar in all its opulence, it’s important to serve it in non-reactive material, such as glass. This will best preserve the roe’s subtle flavors. One should also enjoy caviar at the coldest temperature possible, hovering just above its freezing point. This dish delivers on both fronts.

The smaller glass dish easily holds one ounce of caviar, and nests into a metal frame that cradles it above a larger ice dish. It’s an elegant way to chill and serve, and does justice to the opulent eggs themselves.

Serving Caviar

To savor caviar’s briny, sensuous flavor, it’s best to enjoy it at as cool a temperature as possible. To keep caviar just above its freezing point, 25 F, we suggest eating it over ice in our special glass caviar dish. It’s important for caviar to be consumed using accouterments made of non-reactive materials. Glass or mother of pearl are ideal, like our set of two mother of pearl caviar spoons.
