The Parallus label is all about achieving a perfectly balanced wine. Working with a few of our friends with access to top-quality fruit throughout Sonoma's Russian River, we were able to bring you this delicious Chardonnay from the region's stellar 2012 vintage. The grapes were picked at perfect ripeness, fermented in stainless steel, then aged in a mix of new and old French oak. The best part, though, is that only a small portion of the blend went through malolactic fermentation, so the wine retains that perfect beam of acidity running through it, making your mouth water for more. We couldn't have dreamed up a better Chardonnay for the price, never mind one that delights right now as much as it will after a few years in the wine fridge. This wine is awesome on its own, or with lighter fare. Plenty of 2012 Russian River Chardonnays are made using grapes from the same vineyards, but they cost twice as much. Try all you like, you won't find a better white at this price.
A combination of night-harvested Russian River Valley grapes, French oak and Old-World winemaking techniques create a balanced white wine defined by a purity of lush stone fruit flavors and Meyer lemon, with hazelnut undertones and a vibrant acidity that makes you want to take another sip. Not a typical California Chardonnay, this provides a pitch-perfect balance with a rich, succulent texture.
