3 x 2007 Valduero Ribera del Duero Crianza
You'd be hard-pressed to find Spanish wine with this much elegance and aging potential for twice the price. That's why I am so excited to offer this outstanding Tempranillo from one of Spain's premier winegrowing regions, Ribera del Duero.
Founded in 1984, Bodegas Valduero is widely celebrated in Spain for producing high-quality reds with the potential to age for decades. The wine in today's offer is made from 100 percent Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino. Valduero strives to make only high-profile wines and believes Tinto Fino to be the best regional grape for the job. This is why Valduero makes only single-variety wines.
The wines are acclaimed consistently, year after year, and we're proud to offer their exceptional 2007 Crianza.
Tasting Note
Here is a ruby-colored wine with a big nose of fruit, raspberry, blackberry and sour cherry, as well as licorice and toasted oak. Lavishly smooth on the palate, with berry fruit, vanilla, leather, spice, cinnamon and mint flavors. The tannin-and-acidity balance, along with the nuanced finish, shows this wine has the potential to age beautifully. Drink this now through 2020.
Pair this wine with grilled meats, tournedos, roast beef, hard cheeses, pheasant, game or, especially, roast lamb or lamb chops. If you decide to enjoy these wines now, make sure to open, decant and let them breathe for at least 45 minutes before serving.

"The 2007 Crianza spent 15 months in French and American oak. It is a step up aromatically with alluring scents of wood smoke, cigar box, incense, balsamic and assorted black fruits. Elegant on the palate, it has a velvety texture, intense flavors and excellent balance. Give it 1-2 years to fully blossom and drink it from 2011 to 2019."
